Colab Dance, Music and Costume Performance

On April 4, 2019, I went to the Boneyard Arts Festival; Colab Dance, Music and Costume Performance at the Krannert Museum for the Performing Arts.  If I had to describe the whole performance in one word, I think I would choose to say that it was peculiar. Everything from the location to the attire to the actual performance.

The show was done in the entrance to Foellinger Hall between the stairs and the doorway.  Some dancers were in plain sight, while others were hidden behind pillars or on different levels of the building. The dancers were accompanied a live brass instrument. When the music, the musician joined the dance. I am not sure categorize this dancing as. It was very subjective and seemed like it may have been open for interpretation.

In some parts, there were individual pieces and for others there was collective choreography. The choreography seemed very chaotic. There was running incorporated throughout. At the end, the dancers even chased the audience towards the exit. If nothing else, this performance was very different from anything I have ever seen in my life.
