In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Krannert Center, our class was privileged enough to attend a special performance of Wilson Poffenberger, a classical saxophone professional at the University of Illinois. Poffenberger was accompanied only by pianist Casey Gene Dierlam, and I was greatly appreciative of their musical chemistry and talent. The pieces chosen were all classical, many of which were written by famous composers and arranged for saxophone by Poffenberger himself. I greatly enjoyed all of the pieces and loved the intimate atmosphere of the performance.
