Starting the journey of arts
FAA 110 is the first general education course for me at U of I. I had a great time taking this course.
This course has quite different approach to knowledge compared to my other courses. At first, I thought there would be tons of essays and readings for an art course which could give me a headache since I am not good at writing english essays or art appreciation.
However, it turns out to be my most relaxing and enjoyable course this semester, with cushy lecture contents and artistic performances and events. Although there were hard times to make time for the events, mostly arranged on Thursday nights, when many assignments are due. I did not miss any single event and I think I made the most of each one of them.
I don’t have much music or art background. Basically, I started to devote my time to studying science since high school. Therefore, I usually will not initiate to go to the museums or go to theaters. After this course, I was “required” to do so and when I wrote these blogs, I found I could have reflections from the performances although I might not be able to distinguish the skills or technics, which inspired me to explore more with arts in the future.
The events I participated in include…

- Jupiter String Quartet with Chungliang Al Huang, Tai Ji Master
