The Power of Youtube
Youtube was created in the year 2005, and in just 9 years, Youtube is now a part of our daily lives. Most people go on Youtube to watch the latest music videos, videos of people dancing, singing, videos of cats, videos of almost anything. I can say that as a college student, Youtube is probably my #1 go-to for procrastination.Youtube is open to anybody who would like to shoot and upload their videos and many people are taking advantage of this. People that have a great amount of views and subscribers are called Youtube stars and are even making money off of it. Many Youtube stars have Youtubing as their job. Through Youtube, they are creating their own businesses, clothing lines, makeup lines, etc.
Life of a Youtube Beauty Guru
One of the many people taking advantage of Youtube is my roommate and friend, Rachel Chen. Rachel has been making videos on Youtube since high school. Her first video was a video titled “How to Make Boobs,” which was a spin-off/parody of a video by Jessi Slaughter. Ever since then, she has been making makeup tutorials, fashion/ outfit videos, and the occasional rant. You can check out her Youtube channel here. My short video explains how Rachel got into Youtubing, the hardest thing about Youtubing, and the perks of Youtubing. You can watch my video here.
