Craving for some Japanese dessert? Click here to find out how to make matcha crepe cake with chef Emma!
For assignment 6, the How-To video, I decided to do mine on making matcha crepe cake since me and my friend, Chi Tran, have done it before. The steps are really easy to follow so the video is a great opportunity to show people how to make a Japanese style dessert at home. What are you waiting for? Shall we get started?
Step 1: Prepare the ingredients. 2 eggs, 110 ml almond milk, 1 cup of flour, 1.5 Tbsp butter, 1/8 cup of matcha powder.
Step 2: Melt the butter in a pan and mix it with the eggs.
Step 3: Take the ingredients in step 2 and mix it with the rest of the ingredients.
Step 4: Cover the batter with aluminium foil.
Step 5: Let it rest in the fridge for 2 hours.
Step 6: Pour a small amount of crepe batter onto a heated frying pan that already has melted butter in it.
Step 7: Cook the crepe on both sides and repeat with the remaining batter.
Step 8: To make the shape round, put a bowl on top of the crepes.
Step 9: Get rid of the parts that are outside the bowl.
Step 10: Voilà! The matcha crepe cake is finished.
Finally, it has come to our last individual assignment for this class. I had a lot of fun making this video not only because I have a heart for baking but also I have been wanted to make a DIY video for a long time. Different from the previous assignments, I got to do this one with my friend which rarely happens in journalism classes, giving this video a special meaning. I hope my video can bring happiness to the dessert fans out there and motivate them to make their own crepe cake one day.
