Well, what can I say the semester is now practically over and what a fun journey this has been! I remember sitting here writing my first blog and now this is my last. There was so much we learned and covered over the semester and it was such a great learning experience. I really can’t believe how much has been accomplished over the course of the semester. Check out some of the work I did below, throughout the semester and some of the challenges it brought me. Enjoy!
It is so incredible looking back at the growth I’ve made and amount of work I’ve done for this class. The relief I am feeling to be writing this final reflection blog post is indescribable. I can not begin to explain how happy I am that the semester is finally coming to a close. I have most certainly learned a lot from this class, and my progression is apparent, as shown below. This class will forever go down in the history books
I can’t believe it is the end of the semester and my sophomore year! I remember the first day of this class, I had no idea what to expect. It has been a long journey, but I am glad that my classmates and I made the right strides to becoming better journalists. We all progressed throughout the year and that is evident throughout their work and also in mine. Let’s take a look at my work as a whole throughout the course of the semester and my experiences!
Coming into this semester, I thought I had it all figured out. I had a lot of experience writing between my time with classes, my work with the Daily Illini, and running everything on campus for Barstool Sports. But, after taking this class — I now realize I was clueless. With the skills I have learned in this class, I have been able to do much better work not only for the lass, but also in my other areas of work, and to me personally the difference has been astounding. Throughout every project, good or bad, I learned skills that I never had before, and for that I have to really thank Professor Collins for caring so much about all of us students and making sure that we continue to improve together. But, I’ll get back to all that later, take a look at how this semester has gone for me below! Continue reading →
Time to check out all the hard work from this semester and reflect!
I cannot believe the semester is almost over. This has been by far one of my favorite classes and I feel sad that it’s over. Professor Collins made this class so enjoyable and I know what I’ve learned in her classroom, I will use in my career.
I can’t believe that I am writing my last blog post for journalism 215 class. To be honest, I was really nervous when I registered for the class not only because multimedia reporting sounded complicated but also journalism classes have always been intense. However, this class is by far my favorite course at U of I and it makes me sad that it has come to an end. I love my classmates, Professor Collins and my equipment. I am not ready to say goodbye but I am happy that I’ve done and learned so much in this class. Continue reading →
As the semester comes to a close, I look back in something akin to awe tinged with pride. I’m amazed by how far I’ve come along with my peers in such a short amount of time. I’ve learned so much about journalism, and even more about myself. As I look back, I remember specific accomplishments (and goofs)…
First off, I’d like to start by saying how honored I am to be in the same class as so many talented individuals. The work that I saw put on display in each group’s final presentation was tremendous, and I think we can all say we have come such a long way and progressed incredibly well from the beginning of the semester.
Woohoo- we made it! I remember first getting our class syllabus and being really intimidated, but honestly, I did not find any of the challenges to be insurmountable. With the help of Professor Collins and some ingenuity, I found that I was able to push my limits as a creator and a journalist and create work at a caliber that both surprised and impressed myself.
Howdy! Today I will be giving a gist of the final group projects. Overall, each and every group worked hard and it was easily shown. Each group showed different perspectives of marginalized groups around the UIUC campus. You can check their videos and websites on digital illinois, enjoy!
