It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye…

Farewell to FAA 110

FAA 110 has led me to some great performances. I was able to broaden my knowledge as well as my creativity in only one semester. I was given opportunities that aren’t easy to find on this campus. Every trip to Krannert Center for the Performing Arts was FREE, as well as entertaining. You can’t get that just anywhere. This class gave me the opportunity to see such a wide range of performances as well as artists. Everything that I experienced this semester will be remembered far beyond college. I may not have loved every single thing that we went to see; however, everything was a new and different experience that I will remember.

Overall, this semester has been pretty amazing. I loved being able to attend these events and experience some new things on campus. This was definitely a wind down type of class where you could just enjoy being in the space. I’ll miss FAA 110 and everyone in it.

Polcyn Group reflection

Before addressing each project I just want to thank all of you and especially professor Collins for such a great semester. I think that we all have learned so much, and have made some amazing strides as a class that we never would have made without each other.

Be The Power

I was very impressed by this project and thought that you guys did an amazing job of setting the tone for the class and gave an amazing presentation to start us all off. You did an amazing job of not just educating us, but also entertaining us and using effective ways to get your points across. I was extremely impressed by this group, and think that you guys did an amazing job of working together to use all of your individual strengths as a team. Great job as a whole, and best of luck going forward.

The Diverse Voices of UIUC

This project was probably the most unique in my opinion, and I really enjoyed it because of this. You guys took a very important topic, and used a very different approach to getting it across in your own way and still telling an important story. Especially when it comes to your site as a whole, I thought you did an amazing job and think you guys should all be very proud.

A-Typical is the New Typical

Finally, I really enjoyed this project and thought that it was especially unique because it was so relatable. Many times people only see the exterior you put out, and you guys did a great job focusing on the fact that we are all unique and have our individual struggles that we face in our lives. Many times that isn’t easy to see, and you did an amazing job of highlighting it.

All in all, I think everyone did an amazing job. You should all be very proud and I am really looking forward to seeing more of your work in the future. Thanks for an amazing semester, and for making such great projects

With springtime right around the corner, people are starting to turn their thoughts towards flying kites, picnics and walks in the park. After months of nothing but snow and ice, everyone is ready to embrace the warm weather. Not only do outdoor activities become more popular, but it’s also the season for formal events. Assignment 1 Musolf

The first day of Journalism 215, I’ll be honest, I was terrified. I have little to no experience with things like this. I have a smart phone and have used iMovie about once. After reading Joseph Gelman’s blog from last semester, I found that I was not alone. Gelman was also nervous and unfamiliar. His blog, found here, showed his similar apprehensions.

I went home to film and complete my assignment. I pulled everything out of the bag and wanted to try the tripod. Continue reading “Assignment 1 Musolf”
